question	answer
What is the capital of Japan?	Tokyo
Which planet is known as the Red Planet?	Mars
What is 9 x 6?	54

Question 1 of 3

What is the capital of Japan?

Self-check first. Score comes after you decide.

How studying works

A short loop that respects your attention.

01

Pour in notes

Use TSV from a spreadsheet, notes app, exported study list, or anything that can make two columns.

02

Brew a session

Open a saved deck, start quickly, and let shuffle keep the order fresh.

03

Check yourself

Think first, reveal the answer, then mark right or wrong.

04

Retry misses

Wrong cards remain in review until you get them right.

Why it feels better

Built for the moment you are actually studying.

KopiQuiz removes the parts that make flashcard apps feel heavy. The interface keeps one question in front of you, remembers unresolved misses, and gets out of the way between cards.

Quiet by default

No gamified clutter, crowded dashboards, or achievement noise.

Local first

Your decks, progress, and missed-card queue stay on your Mac.

Beginner friendly

Clear validation, simple labels, and obvious next actions.

Easy to trust

Rename, edit, export, delete, and review actions stay close to each deck.

Choose your brew

Not another flashcard universe.

KopiQuiz is not trying to replace Anki, Quizlet, or every AI study platform. It is for the moment when you already have your own notes and want to pour them into a calm, private Mac quiz.

Tool Best for Strength Tradeoff
Anki Spaced-repetition power tool Serious long-term memorization and high-volume decks. Powerful scheduling, deep customization, add-ons, and a mature ecosystem. The setup and interface can feel heavy when you just want a quick fresh cards session.
Quizlet Social study platform Shared decks, class study, games, and public study sets. Large content library, familiar web/mobile flow, and multiple study modes. More cloud, account, and platform surface than a quiet private desktop workflow.
AI study apps Brainscape, RemNote, Knowt, Mochi, and similar tools Turning PDFs, notes, lectures, or knowledge bases into study material. Can generate cards quickly and combine note-taking, review, and analytics. Often online, broader than flashcards, and less minimal when you already have a finished TSV.

Trust and privacy

Private by design because the app is local.

KopiQuiz does not need the internet, an AI API, or a user account. Decks, settings, progress, and missed-card review are stored locally on your Mac.

This local beta is not notarized yet. A public release should be signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple so the first launch feels normal.

Developer ID signing and notarization for a smoother public install.

Better deck analytics

Clearer last-score and missed-card signals without turning study into a dashboard.

Spaced review

A calm review schedule for missed cards and long-term memory.

Questions

Small answers before you download.

What TSV format does KopiQuiz expect?

The first row should be exactly two columns: question and answer. Empty rows are ignored.

Do I have to type answers?

No. KopiQuiz uses a clean self-check flow: think, reveal, then mark right or wrong.

Does it need the internet?

No. KopiQuiz works offline and does not call an AI API.

What happens when I clear missed cards?

Missed cards stay in review only until you retry them and mark them right. Deleted decks do not leave review cards behind.

Why might macOS say the app cannot be trusted?

This local build is not notarized yet. For a public release, it should be signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
